Pregnant Women

Today we watched a movie over several topics. The topic that caught my attention the most was the one over women and pregnancy. There are some jobs out there that are firing women because they are getting pregnant and have to go on a maternity leave. They are firing them because they don't want to pay them while they are gone for not doing anything.
I do not believe that that is right. I think it is very wrong to fire women just because they are pregnant and have to go on a maternity leave. Especially since they are adding on to the family and need the money to support the family. That is just being sexist towards women.

Colorado

In Aurora, Colorado, police are investigating a shooting that left a man with life-threatening injuries. The man had gotten into a shootout with the Aurora police. The man had fired many shots at the police officers when they had approached him about a possible burglary. One police officer, Detective Bob Friel, was able to return the fire and struck the man, who was not identified, several times.
I think the man way overreacted. He did not need to shoot at the police right away. That just makes him look more guilty by doing what he did. If I were him I would just talk to them and accept my consequences. That would make him seem more responsible.

the iranian president

The iranian president has gotten himself into a bunch of trouble with some important people from other countries. He caused about fifty different delegates to walk out on a conference that had to deal with racism. He also said that the holocaust didn't happen. that made many people even more angry with him. He does not have very many people on his side.
I personally think that he is a horrible president. He is making a lot of mistakes that are causing a lot of people not to like him anymore. I don't understand how he could say that the Holocaust didn't happen when there is so much evidence to prove that it did happen. There are even witnesses still living to prove it. And how can he afford to let fifty delegates just walk out on a conference. That just doesn't make sense to me at all.

Islamic rallies

Today we watched a video about islamic rallies. In these rallies, they yelled death to America and England and Jews. They are taught at a young age to hate certain groups. Groups they are told to hate would be groups as the Jews and westerners. They're cartoons advertise killing the Americans or Jews. They also have made songs that descriminate other races. They are taught in every grade to hate everyone of another race. They are taught that the greatest gift they could give their god allah is to give up your life for him. They use children as sacrifices sometimes also.
This was the first time I have ever seen any kind of video like this. It really gets me because I know that it is real. It also wakes me up to the reality in other countries and what their everyday lives are like. I think it is wrong how they sacrifice their own lives. I also don't like how they have to make cartoons and songs and jingles for children to teach them to hate everyone else who isn't the same race or religion as they are.

Online Dating

Online dating is a serious risk to take. More than half of the people today lie about their true identity. Their picture they post up may not be their real picture. Their personal info or interests may not be their real information or their real interests. They then plan to meet up with them and put themselves in a serious situation.
I think online dating is a wrong thing to do. I would never want to risk my life meeting someone in person who I've been talking to over the internet when I do not truely know if it is them or not. Even if I did end up meeting up with them and they didn't look like they're picture I would definately say something right away.

Week 10 Blog

In the video where they had an actor fall on the ground I thought was the best clip. I just shows how different people react in a situation. A person who seemed to be dressed nicer, more people seemed to stop and call for help within seconds, as to when there was a homeless man who collapsed. Most people just kept walking by and just stared at him as they walked passed and didnt seem to call for help or anything. Even another homeless girl came to him and kept trying to tell people to call for help for her since she did not have a phone. People just kept walking right by her also. Then finally a woman stopped and called for help.
I was shocked when I saw how many people just walked by the man just because hes homeless. Eventhough he's homeless doesn't mean that he doesn't matter. When you see someone on the ground you should always stop and make sure they are alright. Some people were just mean just walking by him.
